Stitching the moment

In a quiet corner of Bredgade, time slows down.
A chair becomes a workspace. Yarn becomes a language. And design becomes something lived.

In collaboration with Lærke Bagger, FDB Møbler explores how furniture finds meaning through hands, patience, and personal expression. It is a meeting between two worlds connected by a shared belief in democratic design, accessibility, and objects made for real life.

Seated in the Jørna chair, Lærke brings FDB Møbler’s classic “Hestedækken” pattern into her own tactile universe. For her, the textile is a Danish icon - familiar, almost instinctive. Instead of reproducing it, she lets it enter her own world of soft stitches, bold colours, embroidered details, and hand-bound yarns.

Lærke’s approach is rooted in the beauty of imperfection. Knots, uneven stitches, scrap yarn, and unexpected colour combinations are not hidden away, but become part of the expression. Materials that others might overlook are given a new chance.

Here, design is not finished in the factory. It continues in living rooms, at kitchen tables, in moments of concentration and calm. Through accessible knitting and embroidery patterns, everyone is invited to slow down, create, and leave their own mark.

Stitching the Moment celebrates the beauty of time well spent. It honours tradition while embracing individuality, allowing FDB Møbler’s heritage to meet Lærke Bagger’s colourful, tactile, and deeply human approach to craft.
